That is me with my most recent pixie haircut.
So, who am I?
At the most basic level, I’m a 16-year-old African American (and partially Indian) nerdy introvert female who happens to blog.
If I had to describe myself in three words, those words would probably be picky, peculiar, and paradoxical. (The “p” thing was mostly coincidental and partly not.)
I enjoy (in no particular order) books, movies, anime, cryptograms, rock and classical music, nature, photography, video games, the Internet, and technology in general.
I love (again in no particular order) Italian cuisine, languages and etymology, autumn and winter, minty flavors and smells, boots, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and Massachusetts for no apparent reason (really, I’ve never even been there before).
Doctor Who and Sherlock are amazing. Also, I am a nerdfighter.
I’m an organizer, daydreamer, night owl, and agnostic.
I don’t really like holidays, parties, giving or receiving presents, dancing, or any kind of celebration (but I still celebrate, etc because, you know, that’s the status quo).
I strongly believe that no one should inflict their opinions upon others, and that everyone has the right to believe whatever they wish to believe. So keep in mind that you chose to read my blog, and you can say whatever you like about it in the comments, but being kind is a good thing.
What is “Lynne De Rien”?
This is my pen name on this blog (and a couple other places too).
Lynn is my middle name. It isn’t legally spelled with an “e” but I prefer to have it spelled that way.
In French, “de rien” can mean “you’re welcome,” but literally it means “of nothing.”
This is how you pronounce “de rien” in case you were wondering and/or don’t know any French.
So basically, the name just means Lynne Of Nothing.
About my blog:
My blog is a personal thing–it isn’t targeted at any kind of audience. It doesn’t have any one focus–I write about whatever interests me or whatever I’m thinking about. Sometimes I post stories (both true and not), little doodle comics, and opinions. Also sometimes, I don’t post consistently.

The best way to get to know me is to read my blog. I’ll try not to bore you too much.
